Cape Yorker magazine is a 180 page, full colour gloss, publication that covers all aspects of Cape York including, but not limited to four wheel driving, camping, fishing, arts and crafts, culture, history, nature, photography, accomodation and businesses.

Cape Yorker is the only nationally published magazine that covers the whole of Cape York including it’s unique lifestyle and local characters. From 2009, Cape Yorker magazine will also branch out to be distributed Internationally.

Advertising, editing and layout, and publication is all coordinated through Creative Croc Industries.

Whilst many other magazines and publications have chosen to print overseas, Cape Yorker magazine is proudly printed in Australia.

Historical Overview:

Cape Yorker Magazine began with a 32 page, full-colour publication in August 2005.

Originally the founding publishers, Chris and Janine Bates, envisioned an ambitious quarterly journal featuring the people and places of Cape York Peninsula. More than just 4WD and fishing stories, Cape Yorker Magazine was intended to highlight the diversity of life on the Cape. It proved successful. The first issue was greeted with overwhelming support from the reading public.

Unfortunately a quarterly publication was not viable due to the logistical nightmares of living in The Cape, not to mention the financial constraints involved in independent publishing!

As of mid 2006 the business took on a partner, Anthony Gomes, who had the unenviable job of editing the new 180 page annual edition. Anthony has since taken over as sole proprietor of Cape Yorker.Everyone wants to read the latest Cape Yorker magazine.

Anthony is well-known through-out the fishing magazine fraternity through his editorship of North Queensland Fish & Boat.

The 2008 Annual has continued to make a further impact on the north and plans are well and truly underway to continue the publication as an annual edition, so come along for the adventure.
